Hot Chocolate

Marianna has started working on the e-marketing side for Breadline Africa. For all those who don't know she is a "not so closet" hot chocolate fan. I just have to say this, I actually went forth and bought the "office" Hot Chocolate. Now I just hope she remembers to bring the donuts.

Actually, between her Med Lemon stints and her April's Fool's Day give-aways she is not a "bad" girl at all.

With the second phase of the blogger bakeoff starting soon, I can't wait to see what Breadline Africa/Marianna would be up to.

Going Undercover the Breadline Way

Unfortunately due to "public" request we won't be able to publish any photographs for the blog of the major "paint event" this decision was made unilaterally by the "paint management team" for undisclosed reasons.

Considering that I have never painted before I think I did a pretty good job of it. I got to paint one wall, one door, half a window and spilled one can of paint on one small piece of plastic sheeting........

New Director

We have a new Director at Breadline Africa. Edna took Tim around a few projects a couple of weeks ago. He has a wealth of experience in the development field in South Africa and he's bringing all that to Breadline. We all are very excited about him and can't wait to get things done this coming financial year. We will keep everyone up to date in the newsletters which will be going to all the donors shortly.

Texas - greatest hits

I have been a fan of Texas for years. Today just listening to their greatest hits album got me remembering of those days of just climbing in my friends old beetle just going nowhere slowly. Dare I mention that I had to push this little “beast” I mean “beetle” up and down a few winding roads. Sorry P, I know this is your baby. Sometimes we stopped off at Suikerbossie going to Hout Bay. Christmas Photies

Herewith some of the photies which was part of Breadline Africa's outing by the sea. I took my daughter with when she got home she told me about her new friend. Her little friend is being brought up by her grandparents as both her parents have passed away. This really made an impact on her and one can just say thank you for what we have. It was such an honour to have experienced this day with so many children who never get to see the sea. The joy on the kids faces cannot be described. Thank you Edna for making the day so special. You're the greatest.

Blogger Bakeoff

Breadline Africa had a blogger bake-off. Loved it. We even had the Breadline Africa UK, Irish and Dutch Trustees baking bread. A few of us at the office had a go at it as well. Bake bread - raise dough. I have to admit one or two in the office quite suprised me with their offerings. A few of the recipes can be found on the blogger bake-off site. It's worth a visit.

I don't know if I should mention that I do "baking mixtures" very well.

A New Start

Dare I mention I did something totally stupid and went and deleted my entire blog. Can actually think of what my kids would say "DUH Mom". I definately don't know where my mind was at that specific moment in time.

So this makes for a new start, a new face. Kabir did say where-ever you are that is the entry point. This is mine for the day.

For those in the know, have written about my favourite charity Breadline Africa. Then again I work for my favourite charity which is Breadline Africa.

We will be moving offices shortly which brings it quite in line with everything new, new start, new faces to learn in the communities where we'll be. Will chat about all these new happenings soon.

Edna'tjie and I will be visiting a project on Friday in Wallacedene. A bit excited about it, haven't been on a project visit with Edna for a bit.
